Regular defragmentation is the key to consistent top performance. O&O Defrag offers you a sophisticated scheduling system, so that you don’t have to run the defragmentation manually each time.

So-called defrag jobs allow you to define the time, action and other parameters for the defragmentation. You can configure all options as familiar from the options dialog.

In this Version 6 of O&O Defrag, the scheduling system has been completely re-worked and includes numerous new functions and possibilities.

You can create, change or delete jobs with this system. If you want to leave out a job for a short period of time, but don’t wish to cancel it completely, you can deactivate it. The job won’t then be carried out until you reactivate it.

The automatic scheduling system is also new in this version. With this option, O&O Defrag automatically detects the right time for the next defragmentation with the help of heuristic methods. As a rule of thumb – the more severely and quickly your system fragments, the more often it will be defragmented. If your system does not show a high degree of fragmentation, the frequency of the defragmentation runs will decrease.
